Every week I come to Dave knowing that it’s going to be fun. I’ve played some instruments before with other teachers although I was never really into it, but when I come to Dave for lessons I get really excited. He always makes things interesting and explains things so that it is easily understood. Because of this I have been able to learn awesome songs really quickly and 'up' my guitar skills.

Dave is always patient in his lessons and he will take his time to properly explain something that I’m struggling with. He is always focussed on me in the lessons and nothing can distract him. The lessons always have a great balance between talking about a song and then playing it. It would be boring sitting in a lesson to just sit and talk but he always gets it just right keeping you interested.

The songs we play come in a great variety from Bryan Adams to Elton John. I have heard almost all the songs he has taught me so far at least once before. They are all very nice to practice and each of them poses a challenge which is what drives me to practice at home so that I can have it perfected to show him at the next lesson. I just love guitar now and nothing will change that. Dave and his lessons have really made me enjoy playing the guitar. I won’t be leaving his guidance for quite some time.

I am very happy with David as my guitar teacher. His teaching style is very effective and I can clearly understand what he explains and illustrates to me. Compared to other music teachers I've previously had David is the most enthusiastic and inspirational to me and I have learnt a great deal more than I probably would have with any of my other teachers.
The atmosphere in David's teaching environment is relaxed and comfortable and this makes learning much easier and fun. David is open to any questions I have regarding guitar and he gives me a well thought-out answer that I can understand. David is patient and if I do not understand anything he will be happy to repeat it until I do understand. Each time I go home after a lesson I will receive material that has been sent to me via e-mail in audio format, supported by a lyric / chord sheet.

David is an excellent guitar tutor. Before I started lessons with David I was an absolute beginner. I didn’t know any chords or how to play any songs. Within two
weeks of receiving lessons from David I could play songs and form chords at a good pace while keeping in time with the music. His laidback, easy approach makes for a learning environment where one can learn at one’s own pace and play freely,
whilst not having the burden of learning music notation. David makes learning guitar simple and fun by allowing the learners to play songs they enjoy as well as some great classic guitar songs. The daunting task of playing some complicated songs is made easy as he breaks them down and works through them with the learner.
He taught me how to play the acoustic steel string guitar and some electric guitar too. David has made learning guitar easy and now I can play many songs and form
chords easily. He is definitely one of the best teachers I have ever had.

I originally started to learn to play the guitar many years ago, but let it lapse, and now wanted to return to playing after a long break. Finding a guitar teacher in the Southern Suburbs was quite challenging and I eventually found David after trawling through the internet.
Although I did remember some of the chords, I had also forgotten a lot ! David has helped me so much with the re-learning process, as well as teaching me a lot of new stuff, such as moveable chords. Our lessons are never routine as I usually come with a number of questions and we go 'off on a tangent' so to speak, from the lesson that David has planned.
It's so nice to get back to playing my guitar again and I'm really enjoying my lessons with David - we often run over my allotted lesson time !

Every week I look forward to that one day where I can escape my busy routine and bring out my guitar. Although I haven’t been playing guitar for very long, I’ve learnt an incredible amount in the time I’ve spent with David. David is not only a talented guitarist but also a very patient and insightful teacher. He always makes lessons interesting and has an open mind towards his students.
Lessons are very relaxed with David as he teaches you according to your pace; there is never a sense of pressure or feeling rushed. With every lesson I learn something new and I have a lot of fun in doing so.
